Does conversational AI completely replace our IVR, or sit alongside it?

Either design may be suitable. An AI flow can replace selected IVR branches, handle overflow or after-hours calls, or sit behind an existing menu. Number retention, routing, queues and transfer behaviour depend on your carrier and phone system, so they are confirmed during discovery and testing.

What happens if the AI cannot understand the caller?

Recognition quality varies with the selected model, accent, background noise, connection quality and vocabulary. During testing, we agree retry wording and a fallback such as transfer, callback capture or voicemail. Calls that are unclear should not trigger sensitive actions without confirmation.

How long does the transition from IVR to AI take?

Timing is quoted after we review the phone service, call flows, integrations, approved content, privacy requirements and testing plan. A simple routing change may be quicker than a workflow that changes bookings or customer records. Production cutover happens only after the agreed tests and fallback paths pass.

Can the AI handle multiple calls at the same time?

A conversational flow can reduce menu navigation, but accessibility depends on the caller and the tested voice design. Test pace, repetition, hearing and speech needs with representative callers, provide a clear human or callback fallback, and keep keypad or relay options where required.
